Animation is the secret sauce

It elevates design into something you can truly feel. Whether crafting crisp, high-impact corporate animations or tactile, surreal motion projects, I aim to bring structure, energy, and emotion to everything I create.

I’m a freelance 2D motion designer specializing in After Effects, working with clients and agencies to create title designs, advertisements, explainer videos, and social content. I’ve contributed to projects for Google, ESPN, and Wealthfront, blending motion design, kinetic typography, and visual storytelling to craft compelling animations.

With a background in painting and graphic design, I studied at SAIC before earning an MFA in Graphic Design from VCU, where my thesis explored Slapstick as a design methodology. My work bridges fine arts, branding, and animation, giving me a deep visual language to draw from. While I primarily focus on 2D animation, I also have experience with frame-by-frame animation, compositing, motion tracking, and particle systems, and I’m integrating Blender and Rive into my workflow. No matter the project, I bring clarity, adaptability, and a drive to make visuals feel alive.

My journey from fine artist to motion designer was driven by a desire to connect with culture and communicate more directly. In art school, my paintings were visceral but enigmatic. After graduating, I wanted my work to engage with people more openly. Inspired by hip-hop, logo design, and contemporary illustration, I developed a pop-hieroglyphic visual language that eventually led me to graphic design and animation. Motion became the missing piece—the key to making my work more dynamic and emotionally resonant.
